One river. Three very different trips. Pick by how much you want the river to make decisions for you.
The gentlest way to get on the Nile. You drift a 7-kilometre stretch where the current does all the work. The reed beds along this section are nesting ground for over forty bird species — pied kingfishers, African fish eagles, malachite kingfishers that flash electric blue when they move. The guides know where to look.
In the afternoon the water turns copper-gold where it catches the light through the trees. That's not a marketing line. Come at 3pm and see it yourself.
Good for: families, first-timers, people who want the river without the drama.
The full afternoon trip. You'll run Bujagali Falls, Itanda, Nile High, Surf's Up, and a handful of smaller drops that don't have names yet because the river keeps making new ones.
Grade 2–3 means the water has opinions. You'll get dunked. You'll laugh about it immediately after. The guides position themselves at every technical section before you go through — you're never running anything blind.
Good for: people who want to actually feel the river. Teens, fit adults, experienced floaters wanting a step up.
Everything the river has to offer. Starting at 8am, you'll cover 14 kilometres through the full Nile white water section: Overtime, Superhole, Dead Dutch Man, Bubugo, the Bujaali stretch, and the long recovery float down to the take-out.
You will get held underwater at least once. The hydraulics at Superhole are strong enough to keep you down for five to eight seconds. That is normal. Your guide will be in the water with you at every major drop.
Lunch is eaten on the rocks midway through — local food, usually rice and beans or matoke, prepared that morning. Your hands will have stopped shaking by then.
Ages 12+. Strong swimming required. Not suitable if you have neck, back, or shoulder injuries.
